Gordon Brown Out In LibLab Pact?
There seems little doubt that Gordon Brown is an unpopular Prime Minister. His personal ratings have consistently been poor and while his collegues tell us what a fun and interesting person he is in private the public have never warmed to him.
With the possibility of a hung parliament, or balanced as Alex Salmond refers to it which does seem a much better term, the Tories are attempting to scare the electorate with the prospect of vote Liberal and get a hung Parliament with more of Gordon Brown in a LibLab pact. It is a prospect that a lot of Liberal Democrats will not find appealling as well any more than many wavering Tories who might be interested in real change instead of more of the same old two party state.
The solution might be very simple. If, as seems more than possible Labour could come third in the poll yet have the most seats but there is no one party with more than half the seats, the Liberals might offer to work with Labour with the requirement that Gordon Brown becomes a backbencher once again, assuming that he does get elected to Parliament.
