Labour Say Tories Are Rubbish
It will come as little surprise to anyone that the Labour party say the Tories are rubbish. It will come as no less surprise that the Tories say Labour are rubbish. Could they both be right?
What really annoys me, and I am sure a lot of other voters, is the fact that the parties appear to prefer slagging off the opposition rather than convincing me they are a good choice for government.
Labour should, after 13 years in power, be able to proudly talk about what they have done in that time. Perhaps it is rather telling that they have been spouting all sorts of potential policies that they say they would do if re-elected. If they failed to get them done in the last 13 years why would anyone trust them to get them done now?
The reality is that neither of the main parties is being honest with us. They argue over a few billions of pounds here or there from cuts or taxes but how many jobs must be lost in the public sector to save a billion pounds? I heard a figure of 40,000 quoted today and if that is correct we can look forward to a great deal of pain in the future as unemployment climbs once again.
Unemployed people are a drain on public resources too so whatever happens things are going to be very tough indeed in the next few years but you would never know that when you hear the slogans and attacks of the main two parties.
